Growing up obsessed with the whole Mod sub culture, Merc's famous Carnaby Street shop was an almost mythical place to me.

So it was an honour to be approached by Merc Clothing themselves to collaborate with them on a capsule T-shirt collection. I was given pretty much free rein to come up with some designs that embodied the brand's ethos - but with my own 'far out' Phigment style.

Thus the MERC x PHIGMENT collection was born!

"From our collaboration with underground British artist and illustrator 'Phigment', the Cutter is a green organic cotton graphic print t-shirt that pays homage to our Carnaby Street origins with a striking retro pysch design. Ideal for layering, eye catching style, organic cotton comfort and a tribute to when Carnaby Street was the place to be!"

The green 'Cutter' tee was released first, featuring the Carnaby St manicule motif. A second wave, consisting of the 'Sylvan' peace sign, the 'Birchwood' transistor radio, and the 'Woodlawn' psychedelic bloom lettering, was released in 2025.
